Senioritis: The GIF Edition

With only a week left of school and one final to take after that, I am beyond ready to graduate high school. It's been a steep, uphill climb, but I made it and I just can't be bothered with the trivial nonsense I have to do, even though I'm practically an alumna at my high school. I have so many stupid papers, projects, and activities to do in my classes, that it's making me feel physically sick. Even if it's an easy task, I can't come up with one reason to complete it. So here's to senioritis; the contagious and life altering disease plaguing myself and the thousands of other graduating seniors this year and the years to come!

When I find out that I have a failing grade in physics and I don't freak out:

When my teachers assign a million projects:

When someone gets nostalgic about leaving high school, I'm just like:

Me everyday when I realize how close graduation is:

When my teachers try to teach during class, I'm like:

When teachers still assign homework:

My thoughts every day:

But then it hits me that this is the last time that I'll see most of my underclassmen friends and friends that are going to different colleges together and I'm like:

But in the end, we should be proud of ourselves and be ready for great things:

...And crying happy tears for the future and all of our successes and memories:

Congratulations to the Class of 2014! We did it and we'll continue to do amazing things!

Prom

One of my close friends and I
Prom. The most overwhelming, expensive, and crazy night that usually doesn't meet your expectations. For some, it's the night of their wildest fantasy, for others, it's just meh. I had always looked forward to prom. I couldn't wait to get a pretty dress and dance the night away. I learned the hard way last year at my junior prom that you have to plan a crap load of stuff in advance and it's probably not going to be as fun as you think it will be. In all fairness, I think junior prom is way over the top with people's expectations and it makes it less fun. I have a theory that it's supposed to be less fun so that senior prom is more enjoyable!

Junior prom was fun, but it did not make me want to go to senior prom this year. After much debating, I finally decided to go and I don't regret my decision at all. It was so much fun and it was a great way to finish out my last couple weeks of high school. My class had our prom at the Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, which is right on Narragansett Bay. The place was beyond gorgeous and I so want to get married there when I'm older! We had a room that had a balcony attached so we could take pictures overlooking the water. It was awesome. Dinner was fantastic, too. We had chicken, filet mignon, and mashed potatoes that were to die for. Overall, it was a great night! Not to be overshadowed, the night included someone taking a trip in an ambulance because they passed out from a bad batch of brownies laced with unknown substances, but that didn't bring down the high spirits!

I think in general, you should be open minded about prom and make the most out of your night. Go with friends, have a good time, and enjoy it. Oh and don't screw things up by pre-gaming or doing drugs beforehand; it just ruins the night for yourself and everyone else when you get caught or get sick. Save that for the after parties if that's your thing. You should want to remember this night because it will be one of the most unforgettable experiences of high school that you'll be talking about even years from now.

With that said, here are some pictures of my night:

mmMac n Cheese

For all the macaroni and cheese lovers in the world, I have the best news ever! I have found the best mac and cheese recipe known to man. At mmMac n Cheese at Quincy Market in Boston, you will experience the awesomeness of their mac and cheese.

I was walking through Quincy Market to grab something quick before I went to the Body Worlds exhibit (it's a traveling museum of the different parts of the body) and I came upon this mac and cheese heaven. There are so many different types of mac and cheese you can get. There is the classic, buffalo chicken, BBQ, lobster, cheeseburger, Boston seafood, and more! Every meal starts with a secret blend of delicious cheese sauce on a skillet and then giant elbow macaroni is added. The cooks flip the macaroni like a pancake and it's like so cool!

I tried the grilled chicken version and it was beyond belief. I got the small and it was VERY filling. I wish I could have it right now; just thinking about it is making me crave it. Next time I go, I want to get the Boston seafood one because it has lobster, shrimp, and crab. The prices are reasonable, too. Mine was $7.50 and the most expensive one is $9.50.

If you're near the Boston area or planning a visit, I definitely recommend eating there or at least eating at Quincy Market because there are a million options! If you're far away and not coming to Boston any time soon, book a flight and get over here for some awesome mac and cheese!!
