Prom

photo 5.JPG
One of my close friends and I
Prom. The most overwhelming, expensive, and crazy night that usually doesn't meet your expectations. For some, it's the night of their wildest fantasy, for others, it's just meh. I had always looked forward to prom. I couldn't wait to get a pretty dress and dance the night away. I learned the hard way last year at my junior prom that you have to plan a crap load of stuff in advance and it's probably not going to be as fun as you think it will be. In all fairness, I think junior prom is way over the top with people's expectations and it makes it less fun. I have a theory that it's supposed to be less fun so that senior prom is more enjoyable!

My delicious dinner
Junior prom was fun, but it did not make me want to go to senior prom this year. After much debating, I finally decided to go and I don't regret my decision at all. It was so much fun and it was a great way to finish out my last couple weeks of high school. My class had our prom at the Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, which is right on Narragansett Bay. The place was beyond gorgeous and I so want to get married there when I'm older! We had a room that had a balcony attached so we could take pictures overlooking the water. It was awesome. Dinner was fantastic, too. We had chicken, filet mignon, and mashed potatoes that were to die for. Overall, it was a great night! Not to be overshadowed, the night included someone taking a trip in an ambulance because they passed out from a bad batch of brownies laced with unknown substances, but that didn't bring down the high spirits!

I think in general, you should be open minded about prom and make the most out of your night. Go with friends, have a good time, and enjoy it. Oh and don't screw things up by pre-gaming or doing drugs beforehand; it just ruins the night for yourself and everyone else when you get caught or get sick. Save that for the after parties if that's your thing. You should want to remember this night because it will be one of the most unforgettable experiences of high school that you'll be talking about even years from now.

With that said, here are some pictures of my night:

St. Patty's Outifts

Whether you're Irish or not, St. Patrick's Day is not taken lightly. From temporary hair dye to Kiss Me I'm Irish T shirts, and  everything in between, St Patty's has become quite the fashion holiday, too. While some go all out crazy for parades and keggers, other people go for more subtle hints of green for work and dinner parties. I've got 3 outfits for that will suit your needs on the scale of college party to dinner party.

College Party/Blarney Blowout - type Party
Stitches Boston Red Sox St. Patrick’s Day Pullover Hoodie - Kelly Green

Nothing's better than a nice warm sweatshirt in New England in March! For all you Sox fans out there, show your Boston pride and Irish lovin' with this sweatshirt from Fanatics.com!

For those lucky enough to live in warmer weather, here's a festive pick for you! You find it on American Eagle!

School/Work Appropriate

This top from Old Navy has the perfect balance of festive and appropriate. It's not too flashy or "trashy", it's just right.

This jacket from American Eagle also works for school too. It's a little edgy and a little less green for those of you that want to maintain your chic style but still celebrate the day.

Dinner Party Worthy

This Dress is so classy and so festive. It will wow all your fellow partygoers! You can find it at Macy's!

For a slightly more casual look, this maxi is great for a party. The navy stripes accent the green and make it look like you didn't try hard to wear green! You can find it at Macy's!

Please share and follow The Daily Doozy in the links below! Comment below what you are wearing for St. Patty's Day! Come back Monday for Boston's very own Celtic punk band! (Comment below if you know what awesome band this is! Hint: I'm shipping __ __ ______!)

Style Covet: Blake Lively Winter Street Style

Whenever I see pictures of celebrities walking down the streets of cities across the world, I get insanely jealous. Yeah, they're famous and they have a lot of money and they can travel, but I'm most jealous of their impeccable style. I'm sure if I was worth millions of dollars, I would totally have an envious wardrobe, but sadly, I can only dream from afar.

If there was one person I could steal her street style from, it would be Blake Lively. Yes she has personal stylists that pick out her outfits, but come on; that girl has wicked good taste. She can rock anything she wears, leaving any style copy cats in the dust. Not to mention she is the most gorgeous girl and is married to Ryan Reynolds. *swoons* She has it all and her style shows it.

Can we all just appreciate how put together, yet effortlessly styled Blake looks? She combines high fashion with warm fabrics and still looks business casual. Whether she's wearing a pea coat or a leather jacket, she knows how to rock it in the frigid temperatures.

...Theodora & Callum Scarf... Guess I'm a Blake Lively fashion fan. Just got this scarf and it's fabulous! Works as a short/long scarf and a dress. Can't wait to bring with me to Europe this year!
Her patterned scarves, dark jeans and leather jackets give her a rocker chic vibe that heats up the freezing weather. Many leather jackets come lined on the inside for extra heat insulation. The neutral tones scream winter fashion, but she puts her own twist on it with fun patterned scarves and a cute bag.

Blake sure knows how to rock leather at this time of year. She's not afraid to wear her leather gloves and leather leggings walking around New York City. Her heavy trench coats and woven hat keep her cozy and stylish, no matter the freezing temperatures.
Even though winter calls for muted and dark colors, Blake pops a little color into her wardrobe with bright colored scarves like these two blue ones, Once again, she steals the show with classic, fitted pea coats, dark pants, and killer leather boots. She always brings it when it comes to style.

17 Pairs Of Shoes I Wish I Had In My Closet

I love shoes. When it comes to shopping, I hate shopping for clothes. All I want to do is spend all of my money on hundreds of pairs of shoes, no matter the cost. I love the different looks, the styles, the colors, the heel heights. If only I had millions of dollars, I could have all the shoes that I want, and then some.

On Pinterest, I have a whole board dedicated to my obsession. (If anyone is looking to buy me gifts, please refer to the link above.) There is little more satisfying to me then finding my new favorite shoe and saving it in my imaginary closet. While I wish I could have it in my actual one, my virtual dreams have to suffice. If I could choose 17 pairs of shoes from my board, these would be the ones I would pick.
